An Israeli police spokesman said that a preliminary investigation showed that the truck hit passengers waiting for the bus and a bus parked at the bus stop near the Glilot military base. Police said the truck driver was killed.
The police are still investigating the scene of the accident and have not yet said whether they are treating the incident as a terrorist attack orroad accident. Medical personnel were also present treating the injured.
Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service said it had been informed of a “major casualty incident” in which at least 35 people were injured, six of whom were “seriously injured”.
