Israel bombed North Gaza, 45 people killed

Israel continues to carry out horrific attacks on Gaza, Palestine. Israel’s latest attack on northern Gaza left at least 45 people dead.

Reported Al-JazeeraOn Sunday (27/10/2024), dozens of Palestinians were killed after Israeli attacks destroyed several buildings in the besieged Beit Lahiya settlement in northern Gaza. The Palestinian Ministry of Health described the attack as a ‘horrific massacre’.

According to witnesses and medical sources, at least 45 people were killed in the attack on Saturday night local time and dozens more were injured. Local media reports said civil defense teams were unable to reach the site due to Israeli fire.

Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that many of the dead and wounded were children, women and the elderly. Rescue efforts were hampered by a lack of ambulances and access to the area by Israeli forces.

The airstrikes targeted at least five houses near the western roundabout in Beit Lahiya. Northern Gaza has been the target of a three-week ground offensive by Israeli forces that has driven tens of thousands of residents from the area.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that Israeli military attacks on Jabalia, Beit Hanoon, and Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza have killed about 800 people in the past three weeks. Israeli soldiers also attacked the Kamal Adwan Hospital on Saturday and left destruction in their wake. At least 30 medical workers were kidnapped and the hospital building was severely damaged.

On Friday, the UN special rapporteur on health used a new term – medicine – to describe Israel’s widespread and systematic attacks on health care workers and facilities.
