25/10/2024 – Vladimir Torres Trio au Hall Blues Club – Jazz-Rhone-Alpes.com

Tonight, the magnificent Hall Blues Club welcomes music lovers to Pélussin. This authentic room is usually dedicated to the blues in its place with stone walls, a friendly welcome from the representatives of this club where many pictures are displayed, often written by the many French or foreign artists who came to play there!

In the room, black metal silhouettes cut out decorate the stone walls (where we notice places provided for hanging a guitar…). The president of the venue, Hervé Couet, welcomes us and takes the opportunity to announce the upcoming performances.

Then take the stage Vladimir Torres and her double bass, designed by Martin Schiffmann on the right in front of his keyboard Kurzweil and on his left Tom Moretti behind the battery instead. The group will have their first song Bilbao Granadathe first track from their album Witches published on June 2, 2023, written by Vladimir at the end of a tour of seven concerts in Spain, seven days, seven concerts from Bilbao to Granada via Valencia…

Songs of Vladimir solo for She comes and goes followed by a gentle theme where the drummer punctuates the tempo with his sticks on the cymbals. The theme of the piano, singing, is elegant, inviting us to go on a tour where the drummer laughs a lot with the piano. Vladimir is very focused, the progress of the piece continues and it ends calmly.

Vladimir then thanks the team for the welcome and presents the musicians with whom he recorded Witches.

Pour white written by Martin Schiffmann, the drums include a perfect harmony of the group, a series of soft and quick phrases, the trio laughing. The low piano uses the breadth of his keyboard, the drummer in his brushes and the melancholy ballad of Leaving introduces us to Vladimir’s creation that he made for Ismaël, his eldest son who he does not see every day because he lives in Uruguay with his mother. The trio ends this movement by singing.

The only piece that will be the arrangement Lon-dubh of the Beatles (found in quartet on his albums Home published on April 14, 2020 and individually Music for stuck in double bass published on October 8, 2021) where the talent of the three is expressed, punctuated by the brooms that almost become chopsticks … faster and faster to be more peaceful.

The intersection allows us to consider…

Our friend, Cheerful, fast, energetic singing gets its interpretation by Vladimir: this piece was written for two boys and it shows the chaos, the love when all three of them are at home!

A slow introduction ofrequired with the piano and the double bass followed by an increasingly faster moment, the drummer uses his brushes, the tension rises and falls to the final climax.

Vladimir then makes us want to hear his next album in preparation (the fourth) by offering us the first one (it’s always a privilege in a live performance to hear a work on made for the first time in public!) of Zoé’s walk which takes us on a tour where the song of the double bass, the brushes of the drummer and the melody of the piano respond to each other.

Pour Strange ways fromHomehis first record, the drum beats, the piano melody, the playing inspired by Vladimir virtuous, fast, the syncopations, the themes show, why not, the richness of games in a playground?

Gaza II sweetreal three people who communicate and communicate wonderfully, very involved, very fast, the theme repeats itself.

The sound of this night was well mastered, the trio is a great alchemy of three musicians who know each other, appreciate each other and love to share a special moment with the audience present. Let’s not forget that Witches means “wizards” and that tonight we dealt with positive and beneficial wizards!!!

The musicians leave the stage and Vladimir returns to delight us with a magnificent solo. Thank you and we can’t wait to hear this trio and their next album again!
