The rescue operation of a hunter who was seriously injured in a steep and difficult area in the mountains of Hersonissos, between the villages of Mathia and Amariano, has been in full progress since noon on Saturday.
The man suffered a serious waist injury after falling during a hunting trip, where he was accompanied by two other people.
The incident immediately mobilized the 3rd EMAK, which rushed to the scene with five experienced rescuers, while an additional four rescuers from the Peninsula are on their way to assist in the operation.
Due to the particularly difficult terrain, the rescue is characterized as demanding and is expected to last several hours, as the relief of the area makes it difficult for the rescue forces to reach the place where the injured person is.
However, it is positive that the injured person is conscious.
