London, Oct 27 (EFE).- Prince William will take part in a documentary about homeless people, which follows the heir to the British throne during the first year of his charity program ‘Homewards‘, created with the aim of demonstrating that it is possible end this social problem.

‘Prince William: We Can End Homelessness’ will show “powerful stories of those who are currently homeless or who have experienced this problem, as well as some transformative solutions,” Kensington Palace (the official residence of the Princes of Wales) said this Sunday in a statement.

“When you are little you think that life is what you see before your eyes and you don’t look elsewhere,” says the Prince of Wales in a brief preview of the documentary that EFE has been able to access, where he remembers a visit he made to a center for homeless people when he was just 11 years old and accompanied by his mother, Princess Diana.

Guillermo claims that this visit to ‘The Passage’ center in 1993 showed him a “different perspective” and made him realize that not everyone had the same life, after talking to people who told him that they had spent the previous night on the street. .

He also confesses that, at the beginning, he thought that because they didn’t have a home, homeless people were going to be “sad” and that he was surprised to see how happy the atmosphere was and the good conversations he had while playing chess.

Filmed over 12 months, this documentary divided into two parts can be seen on October 30 and 31 on the British network ITV and is directed by filmmaker Leo Burley, winner of a BAFTA for ‘The Real Mo Farah’ in 2023.

‘Homewards’ is a local program founded by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in June 2023 aimed at ending homelessness through various social and cultural initiatives.

One of the most recent was the exhibition ‘Homelessness: Reframed’ at the Saatchi Gallery in London last month which highlighted the problems of homelessness in the country and the stories of homeless people and which Guillermo himself visited in person. EFE
