There is unexpected news on “Sat.1 breakfast television”: Lukas Haunerland, who has been part of the permanent team of presenters around Alina Merkau, Chris Wackert and Matthias Killing for over five years, will be leaving the format.
The 40-year-old announced on Instagram that he would host his last “breakfast television” show at the end of November. But why is the popular presenter leaving the Sat.1 show?

Lukas Haunerland: “Time for a creative break”
“The decision was not easy for me. But after over 1,000 shows it’s time for a creative break,” he explains on Instagram.
After his last studio appearance on November 29th, Haunerland wants to go on a world tour and make new music. “If people can’t see me after December, then they should at least be able to hear me,” he tells TVMovie Online. He will also release a new song “From Sri Lanka to Japan” on November 1st. The title is fitting because his world travel adventure is set to begin in Asia.

Saying goodbye to “breakfast television” was not easy for him: “I will miss my colleagues so much.”
And they already miss the 40-year-old: “Your place will be there forever!!,” writes teammate Matthias Killing on Instagram. And “Breakfast TV” presenter Daniel Boschmann comments on the farewell as follows: “I say: ‘Goodbye’! . Your fan…”
Even if November 29th will be a “sad and emotional day,” Haunerland appreciates the feeling of being able to start “from scratch.” “This feeling doesn’t scare me, it’s the ultimate luxury for me!”
It remains to be seen whether Lukas Haunerland will return to “breakfast television” after his break.
