Numa Tempesta is a rich and charismatic financier, with few scruples and business acumen, who manages a fund worth one and a half billion euros and lives alone in his immense deserted hotel. One fine day the Law knocks on his door with bad news. He will have to serve a one-year sentence in social services due to an old conviction for tax evasion. The powerful Tempesta is therefore called to put himself at the service of the least fortunate, among whom is Bruno, a young father who attends the reception center with his son following an economic collapse. The meeting between the two seems destined to change the lives of both, representing an opportunity for rebirth, but in fact there is money involved and a group of homeless people who, between morality and money, will tend to prefer the latter. .. Two years after “Call Me Francesco – The Pope of the People”, Daniele Luchetti returns to the director’s cabin, also co-signing the screenplay with Sandro Petraglia and Giulia Calenda, to create a “tragic-comic fresco”, a comedy that with as a farce it deals with the theme of the power of money, looking at a serious and dramatic theme with a funny and fairy-tale look, far from current events and from the duty to be plausible. The cast, which mixes actors taken from the street and debut talents, is led by Marco Giallini, to whom the director wanted to give a tailor-made film, and by Elio Germano, who returns to be directed by Lucchetti after “La nostra life” (2010) and “My brother is an only child” (2007).
