Patients endure both physical symptoms and emotional struggles, including anxiety and depression, exacerbated by social stigma and treatment complexities. In response to this issue, IFPA has published a seminal report titled Inside Psoriatic Disease: Family (Within psoriatic disease: Family), which reveals that approximately 90% of families report that their loved one’s condition significantly affects their quality of life.
Report highlights how psoriatic disease disrupts routines, increases household responsibilities and disrupts leisure activities. Families together face practical and emotional challenges, often without adequate support. This report emphasizes the vital, but often unrecognized, role that family members play in disease management.offering care during flare-ups and emotional reassurance as they deal with their own feelings of helplessness and frustration.
