A woman was found unconscious on the banks of the BR-101, near the city of Laje, by federal highway police officers passing through the area.

The officers were returning from responding to an accident around 11pm on Tuesday (22) when they saw the woman lying on the side of the road. They came in and noticed that she was unconscious and injured.
The woman was rescued by deputies. When she regained consciousness, she said that she had been punched in the face by her boyfriend and that this was not the first time she had suffered physical attacks.
With the instructions provided by the victim, the agents conducted inquiries and were able to locate and arrest the assailant inside a bar. He was taken to the Santo Antônio de Jesus police station, arrested for causing bodily harm.
The victim was taken for medical attention and taken to the police station to make a statement and request protective measures.
