After a long wait, “Severance“finally back! The successful sci-fi series Apple TV+which has delighted fans since its launch in February 2022, is releasing a second season after almost three years. The premiere is for him 17 January 2025 scheduled, and Apple TV+ recently released the first trailer, which is already generating excitement.
The trailer shows main character Mark running frantically through the bright white hallways of Lumon. Mark, who made a shocking discovery towards the end of the first season – his wife, who was believed to be dead, is alive and works at Lumon as health consultant Ms. Casey – seems to be increasingly entangled in the secrets of his company. Now he meets three colleagues he doesn’t know who have apparently taken the places of his original crew. His creepy manager, Milchick, also greets him with a disturbingly cheerful “Welcome back,” complete with balloons in the office.
Severance is set in a dystopian future where a company called Lumon Industries has developed technology that divides employees’ memories into two independent spheres – professional and personal. This separation, called “Severance,” means that Lumon employees have no reminders of their private lives during work hours, and vice versa. The series revolves around Mark Scout, who is employed by Lumon and voluntarily underwent this procedure. The cliffhanger of the opening season left viewers on high suspense, which only increased the anticipation for season 2.
