PlayStation Stars Update: Memberships No Longer Earn Points as Expiration Rules Change

And memberships no longer earn points.

Playstation Stars has received two news. None of them are positive for the players. In short, the campaign allows players to complete challenges, collect digital items and earn points for those challenges and also game purchases. The points can be used on selected games and digital devices.

Previously, points burned in after two years, but now Sony has changed it to one year from the date the points went in. In addition, you will no longer receive points for subscription services such as PS Plus and EA Play. It is clarified in an email sent to users:

From 24 October 2024:
● New points you receive expire at the end of the month plus 12 months from the date they appear on your PlayStation Stars account balance. Points earned before October 24, 2024 will continue to expire at the end of the month plus 24 months from the date they appear on your PlayStation Stars account balance.

From 1 March 2025:
● The definition of eligible purchase will be updated to exclude all subscriptions obtained through the PlayStation Store (including new subscriptions or renewals of PlayStation Plus subscriptions and other subscription services), meaning that you will not earn more points from membership purchases.
