We just had a scary scene, live from the Laval Rocket game.
Young forward Filip Engaras hit heavily against the boards at the end of the game during the duel between the Laval Rocket and the Utica Comets.
This is a sad example of a sequence where there was no dangerous or reckless move, but where young Engaras was just really unlucky and had a bad time.
He left on a stretcher, and at the time, his condition was so worrying that the guard Jakub Dobesa prospect for the Montreal Canadiens, felt the need to intervene quickly.

It’s scary. Filip Engaras was transported on a stretcher after this blow. Zack Hayes made slight contact, but the fall into the strip was extremely violent.

Terrifying moment. The stretcher had to be removed after the Comets’ Filip Engaras hit the boards. It was absolutely horrible to see.

We would like to commend the good work and rapid intervention of the medical staff on site, and we want to send a big wave of positive waves for Filip Engaras and his family.
Details will follow.
Engaras, 25, is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward from Sweden.
He is a sixth-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2020, and he played his fifth game of the season tonight for Utica, the New Jersey Devils’ farm club.
We are thinking of him a lot this evening, it was really not a pretty sight.
