Men’s volleyball Champions League 2024/25: tournament format and regulations
Competition format
Once the qualifying rounds have concluded, the competition will begin in November with a group stage in which the four teams from each zone will face each other in home and away matches, for a total of six days.
The first classified in each group will qualify for quarter finalsthe second and the best third will go to the repechage, while the other third parties will continue their European adventure in the quarterfinals of the CEV Cup.
The knockout phase includes knockouts and quarterfinals, which will be played in round-trip matches, and semifinals and final, which will be played in a single match.
Unlike last year, the formula of the Superfinals. The format will be reintroduced Final Fourwith single-match duels starting in the semifinals. The third place match will no longer take place.
Rules for sort order
If the final score is 3-0 or 3-1, three points will be awarded to the winning team and 0 to the losing team. If the final score is 3-2, two points will be awarded to the winner and one to the loser.
The classification is governed by the following criteria in order of importance:
- Number of matches won
- Points earned
- Win/loss set difference
- Points won/lost difference
- Direct match results
