Soon after, they saw a mother leopard and two cubs hiding behind her. It was a precious time, but it soon passed with an ominous feeling.
Carol said the female leopard was aware of an approaching threat and walked outside the den. At this moment, Bob saw a lion crouching a few meters away, staring hard in the same direction.
At first they thought that two different events were happening at the same time. But when the lion moved on quietly, they realized that the target of the lions was the leopards.
The lion then moved within striking distance. The female leopard is at a great disadvantage because of her much smaller size, but in danger of losing everything, along with her mother’s instinct, she holds her ground with incredible courage.
It is too late, but it is fast. The lion jumped up and fought the leopard. The other members of the pride were not far from the scene, but the lioness was so confident that she acted alone without waiting for support from the other lions.
The leopard woman jumped up to fight the lion, and the two engaged when they landed. The lion then bit one of the leopard’s hind legs, but the leopard struggled to break free and attacked the lion’s weak point while it was heavy, causing the lion to pounce on it. retreat from the leopard in pain and stretch out its paws like a wounded puppy.
The mother leopard took the opportunity to flee into the nearby forest, and her cubs had plenty of time to hide. The rest of the lions arrived soon after and tried to climb a tree to catch the woman, but they were unsuccessful.
Later, a lion noticed wildlife nearby and the other lions decided to capture it, allowing the female leopard to live. Most situations like that with a female leopard end in tragedy, but that day was different.
The mother ended up moving the pup twice that evening. Although he appeared to be very tired, he suffered only minor injuries and was not seriously injured.
