“The doctor told us crudely that with each child there was a normal risk of all pregnancies. But when there were two, the risk increased, and so on. Obviously, the risk with four children was at its maximum level… We had a decision to consider not having one of the four. For us it was a shock because “How can you contemplate taking the life of a child that God sent?” mentioned David Gutiérrez, husband of Ivanna Cárdenas, who remembers that the risk of pregnancy was 50% against their children being born healthy.

The reality of a multiple pregnancy is a rollercoaster of emotions. Ivanna had to give birth to her four children prematurely, putting one of them at risk of not surviving. However, faith in God and the help of doctors made the miracle happen.
