Vietnam PM demands greater effort to respond to storm Trami

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged local ministers and presidents to take a proactive stance to inform and respond to Storm Trami, which could affect the waters and coastal areas of the center of the country. from the 27th to the 29th of this month.

According to an official dispatch issued the day before, the leader demanded better preparation to minimize human and economic losses, as well as guarantee security for activities at sea and in protection areas for fishing boats before the passage of Trami, the sixth storm that hits the East Sea in the season.

On the other hand, it required adopting measures to ensure the safety of tourism activities and the breeding of aquatic animals in the sea, estuaries and coastal areas; at the same time as evacuating residents who reside in dangerous areas to safe places.

Among the tasks outlined are also the control of reservoirs, and timely information on the evolution of the storm, rain and flash floods.

The heads of the Ministries of Defense and Public Security will be in charge of directing the evacuation of residents and subsequent search and rescue efforts; while those of Transportation and Industry and Commerce will guarantee the safety of oil exploitation on the high seas, maintenance of the electricity line and safety of hydroelectric power plant and traffic reservoirs; and Agriculture and Rural Development will ensure agricultural production and exploitation of aquatic animals.

The Vietnam National Television and the Vietnamese News Agency, for their part, have the task of timely reporting on the evolution of the storm, rains and floods, as well as guidance from the authorities./.
