Mexico City. The governors emanating from the ranks of Morena and its allied parties today released a joint statement in which they rejected the attempts of various judges to grant protections to stop the reform of the Federal Judiciary, and expressed their support for President Claudia Sheinbaum.
The text, published on the social networks of the guinda party, states that the governors of the Fourth Transformation “publicly express our indignation at the repeated intention to grant illegal and inadmissible protections to judges of the Federal Judicial Branch, removed from their powers and violating constitutional precepts and fundamental laws.”
The state leaders pointed out that “on other occasions we have already expressed public accusations about the seriousness of judges and magistrates wanting to replace the Legislative Branch, with the aim of stopping constitutional reforms, completed and in accordance with the law in all their stages.”
In that tone, they stressed that article 61 of the Amparo Law clearly establishes the cases of inadmissibility “against additions or reforms to the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.”
For this reason, they warned that “those who contravene what the law stipulates, displaying powers that it does not grant them, flagrantly violate it; and even more so when it comes to those responsible for administering justice.”
The judges “exceed their limits by omitting that a definitive suspension cannot be granted against the publication of the reform to the Judiciary in the Official Gazette of the Federation, nor can a precautionary measure be granted against the delivery of the lists of judges to the Senate because these are fait accompli.”
In the statement, the Morenoist governors expressed their “total support for the president of Mexico, who has acted in accordance with her constitutional powers as head of the Executive Branch.
The text concluded with the proclamations: “The people rule, the democratic election of judges goes!, Long live the Constitution!, Long live democracy!”, and has the signatures of the leaders of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas (both incoming and outgoing governor), Mexico City, Colima, state of Mexico, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Puebla (incoming and outgoing), Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Sonora , Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatán and Zacatecas.
