The Italian Football Federation announced that the match between Bologna and its host Milan, scheduled for Saturday, in the ninth round of the local league, has been postponed due to flooding in the city and the area
Sharjah 24 – Asaad Khalil:
The match between Bologna and its host in Milan, scheduled for Saturday, was decided to be canceled in the ninth round of the Italian Football League, due to flooding in the city and the region.
The city of Bologna announced in a statement through the X website that the match has been cancelled, and another date has been set for it.
The statement said: “As a result of the floods that occurred in the city of Bologna, work is underway to correct the crisis in public areas and private buildings.
Thousands of people were forced to leave their homes as a precaution after the Emilia Romana region saw heavy rains for several days, along with flooding as well.
Both clubs had announced before the match was postponed that their money would be allocated to those affected by the flood, and Bologna said it would take half of the income from the match, while Milan wants to provide that by holding auctions for players’ shirts.
The region was hit by floods in May 2023, which led to the cancellation of the Emilia-Romagna Formula 1 race.
