Legia won against Betis Sevilla (1-0), while Jagiellonia defeated FC Copenhagen 2-1. Beating the favorites meant that Polish teams were at the top of the table prepared by Football Meets Data.
The ranking was prepared based on the ELO ranking, taking into account the strength of each team’s rivals. The hegemon is Chelsa from London, which, according to statistics, has as much as 88%. chances for a place in the top eight of the LK league phase and 99.9 for qualification to at least the play-off phase, which is guaranteed by at least 24th place.
Polish teams are in the top ten – Legia is 7th (44% chance of being in the top 8 and 94% of playing at least in the play-offs), and Jagiellonia is 10th (39% and 93% respectively). It should be emphasized, however, that this is only “divination based on tea leaves”, as only the first of six rounds of the Conference League have been played.
In the second round, the “Military” will play away against the Serbian TSC Backa Topola, while the Polish champions will host the Moldovan Petrocub. Both teams mentioned above lost their first matches.
The eight best teams in the league phase of the Conference League will advance directly to the quarterfinals. Sixteen more will play in the play-off phase, which will determine the remaining eight quarterfinalists.
