/ world today news/ “Nikolai Ivanov has our strong support for the upcoming elections. I am sure that he will be the next mayor of Vratsa,” said the chairman of the National Assembly of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, to the hundreds of residents of Vratsa gathered in the square in the center of the city.
“In the last years of right-wing government, the northwest has become a byword for forgetting the people of the other Bulgaria. Nikolay Ivanov and the councilors from BSP, our mayors from Vratsa region, Vidin region, Montan region – during all this time they fought for you, for the people and succeeded – to revise projects, to create opportunities for a different life for people with low incomes, to students from poor families,” said Mikov. According to him, this would be impossible if the BSP did not stand behind the group of councilors and mayors. He underlined that the BSP has firm principles from which it does not deviate – it did not enter government, did not support the loan of BGN 16 billion, did not support the division of citizens into socially significant and insignificant in health care. “We did not lie to those who supported us. We protected the interests of a large part of Bulgarian citizens,” Mikov recalled.
Mihail Mikov emphasized that what happened in the last one year under the right-wing government has consequences. He called on the citizens of Vratsa in their meetings with the other candidates to ask them about what their parties have done in the last one year. “It is a mistake when the state transfers new and new responsibilities to the municipalities without providing funds for them. “Promising that you will not raise taxes and proposing a new two percent income tax is a lie,” Mikov was categorical. He also pointed out: “Our mayors know what your problems are and can solve them.” Mikov expressed his and the party leadership’s support for the candidates from the BSP list for municipal councilors, because politics for the people is their goal and idea.
