Norwegian Erling Haaland is on his way to breaking all scoring records in Europe. And this Wednesday, he scored a double in Manchester City‘s 5-0 win over Sparta Prague, on the third round of the Champions League.
According to the criteria of
Haaland reached three goals in the same number of games in this edition of the Champions League and there are now 44 his goals in the continent’s top club tournament, in 42 games, including those scored with Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City.
Erling Haaland’s spectacular backheel goal
The first of his own and the second that his team scored this Wednesday was an extraordinary gem: He took advantage of a cross from the right by the Brazilian Savinho and when he seemed to be running out of angle, he stretched out to finish with a back-heel with his back to the goal.
The shot from behind the goal shows much better the genius of the Norwegian, who never stops surprising or scoring with the team led by Pep Guardiola.
And if something else was missing, Haaland scored the fourth goal by crowning an extraordinary play with a double wall, falling to finish in the heart of the area.
The victory leaves Manchester City in third place in the Champions League standings, with seven points, two behind Aston Villa and Liverpool, the only ones with a perfect campaign after three days.
