Coach Joaquín Todeschini nominated the twelve players who will travel to Lima, Peru, to participate in the 2024 South American Rugby Sevens that will be held in Villa María del Triunfo, the venue for the 2019 Pan American Games.
The national team will have a mix of experience and new wisdom with captain Diego Warnken, Ernesto Tchimino, Clemente Armstrong, Gonzalo Lara and Lucca Avelli providing experience.
Manuel Bustamante returns to the team since his last participation, winning the silver medal at the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023. The same for Iñaki Tuset who was summoned this year for the SVNS Grand Final in Madrid.
For their part, Federico Contreras, Juan Sebastián Bianchi, Martín Escobar and the Mackayians Augusto Villanueva and Julián Troncoso receive their first summons to the reduced rugby team.
Two other players will participate in training as guests. These are Juan Ignacio Piña, from PWCC, and Antonio Corbella, Old Boys, but they will not travel to Lima to play the South American.
The Cóndores 7s were placed in Group A where they will face Peru on Saturday (09:58 hrs), Paraguay (12:54 hrs) and Guatemala (16:12 hrs). On Sunday there will be the semi-finals and finals of the Sar Sevens 2024.
