More than 4,100 students will benefit from the development in the Auna program, which will lead to the launch from November with another 2 months of length, the new line for PROA + centers and a new Reception Plan
The Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of Aragon is going to strengthen the programs aimed at vulnerable students through several proposals that will be launched in November and will allow by expanding the number of school children in vulnerable situations with special attention to immigrant students and late students.
The same week, the new call for the Auna program for the consolidation of education will be published, with 373,000 euros and which is part of actions to protect against school failure and early educational abandonment. And it will do so with two major improvements compared to previous announcements: both the groups and the duration of the program, which lasts two months, will be extended.
The aim of the program is to achieve educational success for students with learning difficulties, to improve educational outcomes and promotion and graduation rates, with particular attention to the most vulnerable students who have difficulties in essential subjects or areas in the their educational journey.
This outside-of-school reinforcement can be dedicated to the development of language ability which includes, if the center decides, the learning and reinforcement of Spanish for students with language problems.
For four hours a week outside school hours, the students selected by the teaching teams will receive reinforcement classes in the facilities of the same educational institution to which they belong. In this way, it is encouraged that the students stay in their information center and that the teachers who teach the groups can coordinate with the teaching team to keep an eye on them.
The strengthening groups are made up of a maximum of fifteen participants and written consent is required from the families. It is the responsibility of the management teams to select teachers from among the teaching staff of their faculty. These teachers have one hour a week to care for families and coordinate with other teaching teams. Currently fully funded by the Government of Aragon, in the last academic year 2023-24 it made it possible to meet the demand of 179 public institutions and 11 subsidized institutions.

Due to the increasing demand by the institutions for this program, the General Directorate of Education Policy is also going to introduce a line of reinforcement outside the school financed with 250,000 euros for the centers of the PROA + program. A total of 98 centers are supported by public funds with a special complexity that is about to start the second phase of the program to combat vulnerable students leaving school early.
In this case, 120 reinforcement groups outside the school will be established by teachers from the center and they will be able to dedicate themselves to developing linguistic and scientific-mathematical skills, as well as improving the learning of Spanish in students who have no knowledge of the language. A total of 1,200 students will benefit from this reinforcement, which will be combined with extraordinary support from teachers during school hours for co-teaching, which will allow two teachers to interact with students in the same class. This procedure, which has already been implemented in all centers of the PROA + network for several school years, is one of the activities that improves the attention of students with learning difficulties.
To achieve this proposal, it is also planned to launch in November the Welcome Plan for students and families, which aims to integrate immigrant students, who will have employees with a social profile -community for activities of financial support, advice and intercultural mediation for students. and families.
This plan will be coordinated by the Equality and Inclusion consultancies of the Aragonese Reference Center for Equality and Innovation (CAREI), responsible for the General Directorate of Education Policy, Academic Planning and Education Ongoing, and plans to serve more than 400 school children and families.
