Verona-Monza 0-3, Dany Mota and Bianco give Nesta his first victory

For the second year in a row Monza conquers Verona (0-3) and collects three precious points which allow them to leave Venezia in the uncomfortable last place in the standings. A success, Nesta’s first in Serie A, scored by Dany Mota who, after being the protagonist of the equalizer against Roma, took over the scene by scoring a double. Verona, frozen cold by the Portuguese’s initial goal, did not have the clarity and precision to straighten out the match and in the final they were naively surprised by two long throws from Turati, extended by the always useful Djuric.

«The match report»

Monza broke the deadlock with a gem from Dany Mota

Monza, forced to give up Daniel Maldini at the last minute, appeared from the 1st minute with Dany Mota in the attacking trident with Caprari and Djuric and the Portuguese immediately repeated himself with the first useful ball (7′): on a pitch from the Caprari’s three-quarters coordinated perfectly and with a splendid right-footed volley diagonally from the edge of the box he put Montipò into the opposite corner. Verona reacted with character but was unable to balance the score before the break with Ghilardi, who was perfectly opposed by Turati, Mosquera and Tengstedt.

Traversa di Kyriakopoulos

Upon returning to the pitch, the Gialloblù immediately started again with their heads down, engaging Turati again with Lazovic but then Monza came out and completely failed to double the lead with Djuric, who scared Montipò with his head, Pessina and Kyriakopoulos who struck in the 61st minute the top of the crossbar with a great left-footed shot from outside. Verona has found new life with the arrivals of Serdar, Sarr, Kastanos and Livramento. She started to push continuously, crushed the Brianza players in their frontcourt but was unable to find the right opening to level the score with Serdar and Kastanos themselves and with Ghilardi on the development of a corner.

Mota doubles, Bianco enters and lands the trio

Monza breathed a sigh of relief and on the following throw-in they found the knockout blow in the 74th minute: Turati threw long for Djuric who extended the ball from the back of the head to Dani Mota, who did well to escape Bradaric and pass Montipò on the exit. Verona raised the white flag and in the 79th minute also suffered the shame of 0-3, achieved in a photocopy this time by the substitute Bianco who, on Djuric’s new aerial bank, took advantage of a short back pass headed by Faraoni to beat for the third time Montipò.
