Mestan: There is a need for a new power formula –

/View.info/ There is a need for a new power formula, European in nature. With whom Borisov will remain in coalition. Whom he chooses as a coalition partner is his responsibility.

This is what DPS leader Lyutvi Mestan said at the press conference at the NDK on election night.

Our assessment of the local vote should not be read as a request by the DPS to enter into a management configuration within the framework of the 43rd National Assembly, Mestan specified.

He began his speech by saying that there is something unusual in the fact that DPS gives a press conference before the first and second political forces. This is a press conference of political normalcy. Can’t some scandals outside this building be the main event. I am the last person to comment on the refusal of the first and second political forces to give press conferences, Mestan added.

The main goal of the DPS was to maintain and, if possible, expand its positions in local self-government. The goals of our political opponents were quite different, it seems to me that they boiled down to two words – sweeping DPS out of the local government, and subsequently erasing it from the political life of the country.

The results of the DPS clearly show that the elimination of the DPS both from the local government and from the political life of the country is a mission impossible. The DPS registered the second strongest result since 1995 after our achievement in 2007, Lyutvi Mestan reported and stated that the DPS was heard by the voters.

He admitted that: the DPS really loses compared to the parliamentary elections, but this is not a loss of a political vote, but almost 120,000 votes officially taken away from the DPS because of the insane figure of sedentariness in the Electoral Code, introduced only in Bulgaria in a way that deprives Bulgarian citizens by constitutional right to vote.

DPS won 31 municipalities in the first round and is in a runoff in 23, and in 14 of them we are the first political force. What will be our final result as a number of mayors, to see if we expand both geographically and quantitatively, will be clear on November 1st.

Did the vote set new political realities, asked Mestan and answered himself: We must be blind not to see them. A counter thesis could be made, as I have already heard, that the vote confirmed the status quo and as a ruling majority. One can think so if the parties around GERB, with which GERB forms the governing majority, really agree that their result should be read as one. The question arises, where did their self-subjectivity of political forces go, said the DPS leader.

“GERB’s result is impressive, with a strong recommendation that they rely mainly on their messages and not on the resources of civil servants and machines, because like us, they are also a well-organized party in the horizon and vertical. This local vote shows who is who in Bulgarian politics”, said Lyutvi Mestan.

Mestan made a recommendation to GERB: From now on and for the second round, they should rely mainly on their messages, not on the resources of the state machine. Because, like us, they are also a well-organized party both vertically and horizontally.

Both upon entering the NDK and during the press conference, Mestan said to the rulers: If in the end it turns out that any of the GERB coalition partners have more ministers than mayors of municipalities, I would suggest that they be a little more careful with the mentoring tone.
