[문화뉴스 류환 기자] The 29th Gangbuk-gu Office Long-term Badminton Competition was held on the 19th and 20th in a grand manner at the Gangbuk-gu Wellbeing Sports Center in Seoul and the indoor badminton court at Odong Neighborhood Park.

In this competition, 652 teams (303 teams, 177 men’s uniform teams, 172 mixed women’s uniform teams) and 1,300 club members from 20 clubs in Gangbuk-gu participated.

At the opening ceremony held at the Wellbeing Sports Center at 9 a.m. on the 20th, hosted by Kim Seong-sook, secretary general of the Gangbuk-gu Badminton Association, a large number of Gangbuk-gu political figures and badminton officials attended and congratulated the competition.

Gangbuk-gu Mayor Lee Soon-hee, Gangbuk-gu Council Chairman Kim Myeong-hee, National Assembly members Cheon Jun-ho and Han Min-soo, Seoul Metropolitan City Councilors Lee Sang-hoon, Lee Sang-wook, and Lee Yong-gyun, Gangbuk-gu Council members Cho Yun-seop, Shin Jae-eok, Heo Gwang-haeng, Noh Yun-sang, Lee Sang-soo, Choi Chi-hyo, Choi Mi-kyung, Jeong Cho-rip, Park Cheol-woo, Yoon Seong-ja, and Lee Jeong-sik. Gangbuk-gu Sports Council Chairman Yoon Jae-eul, Gangbuk-gu Badminton Association Chairman and executives attended.

Following the return of the championship flag to Hanul Club, which won the championship the previous year, there were awards given to club members who contributed greatly to the development of badminton.

The Gangbuk-gu mayor’s commendation was given to fellow club members Lee Jeong-sik, Kim Hyeong-gi, and Kang Byeong-cheol, and the Gangbuk-gu council chairman’s commendation was given to fellow club members Park Chan-kyung, Jae-seong Jae, Shin Yong-gyu, Park Jin-soo, and Kim Gyeong-sook.

The National Assemblyman Cheon Jun-ho’s commendation was received by Park So-yeon, Kim Ok-yong, Park Jang-gyu, and Jeong Yu-ha’s club members, the National Assembly Member Han Min-soo’s commendation was received by Noh Jong-yeol, Lee Dong-gook, Lee Jin-oh, and Jin Dae-han’s club members, and the Gangbuk-gu Sports Council President’s commendation was given to Kim Chang-jung, Park Hyuk-seong, and Park Seong-ryang’s club members.

The Seoul Badminton Association president’s commendation was given to club members Cha Yoo-sook and Ahn Mi-jeong, while the Gangbuk-gu Badminton Association’s president’s commendation was given to club members Seong-min Yang, Ok-dan Lee, Cheol-hee Kim, Du-min Kim, Tae-woong Kim, Hyeon-ae Lim, Sun-young Park, Bok-sun Kim, Sook-ja Lee, Hoon-pyo Hong, and Hye-sook Ham.

Jae-eul Yoon, President of the Gangbuk-gu Badminton Association, said, “I am very happy to see the club members who prepared for the competition with only their passion for badminton and participated in good health,” and added, “We sincerely thank you for your endless interest and love along with your loving steps toward the association.” “He said.

Gangbuk-gu Mayor Lee Soon-hee said, “I ask for active activities so that many residents can love badminton and stay healthy in the future, and I will also strive to create Gangbuk-gu with a good environment for enjoying sports such as badminton.”
