Urfahr-surroundings district. On October 21, 2024 at around 3:05 a.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on the B126 in the Hochbuchedt area. A 22-year-old from the Urfahr-Raum district was driving his car on the B126 from Linz towards Bad Leonfelden.
At the same time, a 58-year-old from Linz was driving his car on the opposite lane towards Linz. A 34-year-old woman from Linz was sitting in the passenger seat.
At Strkm level. 7.87 there was a head-on collision between the two vehicles for reasons still unknown. The 58-year-old’s car was thrown over the guardrail on the right and came to a stop on the embankment near the adjacent forest. Everyone involved had to be rescued from their vehicles by the fire department. The 58-year-old had to be resuscitated after being rescued. After the initial measures, he was taken to the UKH Linz, where he died a short time later. The 34-year-old passenger was also taken to MED Campus 3 with serious injuries. The 22-year-old was accessible on site, but was unable to provide any information about what happened to the accident. An alcohol test carried out on him was negative. He also had to be taken to MED Campus 3 with injuries of an unspecified degree. The 58-year-old’s car was recovered using the BF Linz crane. Investigations into the accident will follow.
