For the World Series. Los Yankees return to action in the Championship Series after having won the last game in Cleveland. Now they will seek to win the Game 5 to be able to return to the title series for the first time in 15 years.
The Bronx team has completely dominated the Series against the Guardians. If not for two home runs at the end of Game 3, the Yankees would already be celebrating going to the World Series. Even so, they are nine innings away from being able to seek the 28th title in their history.
Today the Yankees will look break the losing streak in the Championship Series. The team has managed to reach these stages four times since their last championship, 2010, 2012, 2017 and 2019, However, all four times they ended up falling to the Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers, and Houston Astros on two occasions, respectively.
For their part, the Guardians will seek to make home field count, just as they did in Game 3. The team needs the victory to avoid elimination and thus be able to dream of a comeback.
