The case of a woman in her 30s who suffered damage due to the company’s downsizing and irresponsible response after a taxi accident is causing controversy.

According to a post posted on an online community, A, a woman in her 30s who was on her way to work, was hit by a corporate taxi that was making a right turn while crossing the crosswalk at a blue light.

Immediately after the accident, Mr. A fainted for a moment, but the taxi driver did not call 112 and shook him awake and took him to the hospital in his car.

Mr. A returned home after taking an X-ray of his pelvis and ribs at a university hospital and receiving treatment for abrasions. But the problem started after that.

Deleting the taxi company’s black box reduces incidents?

The taxi company that caused the accident said that when Mr. A found the black box video of the accident, he submitted it to the insurance company and then deleted it. From the night of the accident, Mr. A’s body began to deteriorate rapidly, and hospitalization was inevitable.

The next day, Mr. A’s father spoke to the taxi driver on the phone, but the taxi driver shifted responsibility to the company. The company said, “It is true that we deleted the black box,” and added, “If it becomes a legal problem, you will be punished, so report it.” He showed an irresponsible and disloyal attitude.

Mr. A obtained the black box video from the back of the taxi at the time of the accident from the police, but was told that it was difficult to punish him for gross negligence because it did not contain the accident.

Accordingly, Mr. A’s father confirmed the scene of the incident on the day of the incident through the CCTV of a nearby store, took it over to the police, and was told by the police that he could be punished for gross negligence.

The lies of the taxi company and the pain of the victims are revealed.

Afterwards, Mr. A met with an insurance representative. However, I was shocked to hear that the person in charge had never received the black box video, and had only heard that the driver hit a pedestrian while turning right.

Afterwards, I became suspicious of Mr. A’s taxi company’s intention to minimize the incident. Additionally, anxiety is growing as there are no clear procedures for follow-up and compensation after an accident.

In addition, Mr. A has been experiencing continuous pain and discomfort since the accident and is also experiencing sleep disturbance due to the accident.

However, the hospital said there was no major problem and diagnosed the patient with a 2-week pregnathic condition, which made Mr. A feel even more unfair.

This incident shows the problem of taxi companies failing to ensure transparency and reliability in handling traffic accidents.

Deletion of accident black box footage and uncooperative attitude toward insurance companies can be interpreted as violating the rights of victims and further reduces the credibility of the overall traffic accident handling process.
