Autopsy results reveal the mystery behind the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Doctors found the 61-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

The director of Israel’s National Center for Forensic Medicine who conducted the autopsy, Dr. Chen Kugel, said Sinwar died from a gunshot wound to the head that caused severe bleeding. Although Sinwar suffered several other wounds to his body, Kugel believes that the Palestinian politician’s death was caused by a bullet to the head.

“That is based on what I found on his body. He was injured from other sources, such as a gunshot wound to his right arm, a rock that fell on his left leg, or thigh, and a lot of debris that entered his body. , except in the chest That caused “extreme damage, but the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head,” said Kugel, quoted by CNN, Saturday (19/10/2024).

Sinwar’s body was identified through DNA testing. Kugel said Israeli soldiers cut off Sinwar’s finger and sent it to a lab for testing.

“After the lab created that profile, we compared it to the image Sinwar had while he was serving time here as a prisoner, so we were finally able to identify through his DNA,” explained Kugel.

Kugel believed that Sinwar died on Wednesday afternoon (16/10), more than 24 hours before his body was taken to a forensic institute for examination.
