Mass analysis published by the German newspaper, in which Viktor Orbán was at the beginning of the article, recalling that the Hungarian Prime Minister said: since 2015
everyone says I’m an idiot and I’m bad myself, but at the end of the day everyone agrees with me”.
As the paper says:
“The numbers prove Orbán’s truth: Hungary, with a population of 9.6 million, registered 21 asylum applications in the first nine months of this year. In comparison, more than 170,000 people applied for asylum in Germany in the same period. “
Fences, rejection of applications at the border, only minimal services for asylum seekers, ineffective deportation policy and a poor defense outlook – the article lists the root causes, and then mentions that, even within the EC, positions continue. Orbán, as the leaders realized that the “historic” refugee agreement, which was planned for eight years and adopted in May, would not be enough.
And the article reveals the real motivation, which is not the settlement of the case, but the fear of the progress of the right. Hungary and the Netherlands now want to withdraw from the EU’s common asylum policy, the Poles, the Finns and the Germans are also getting tougher, the leader of the EPP Manfred Weber does not want to leave the migration issue there in the hands of “bad people” (it is hardly hidden. a reference to Orbán), so at least he wants to send the judges home with the rejected request; EC President Ursula von der Leyen accepted the electronic idea quickly and positively; but its feasibility is questionable – wrote Welt.
Most of the comments criticized the German government and politicians, as well as the EU, and urged to close the borders immediately, but many defended them, and even cited the Hungarian example and the Prime Minister of Hungary on a medal.
Just talk, no action
With these politicians – either the Germans or the EU – nothing will come of it, it’s just “blabla, as always”, dismissed one of them. The others were not more understanding with the Berlin cabinet or the decision-makers in Brussels either:
