/ world today news/ “It turned out that the profession of “musician” in Bulgaria is not a profession. I don’t understand why Bulgarian politicians don’t appreciate the possibility and necessity of spiritual development through music.”
This was shared by the Bulgarian opera singer Krasimira Stoyanova in the program “Morning Coffee with Radostina Uzunova”. The world-renowned soprano expressed his concern and frustration over the fact that “an awful lot of music schools are left without staff”. In her words, “symphonic orchestras are almost deaf; there are collisions…”. Stoyanova clearly indicated the reasons for the state of musical life in Bulgaria, including the lack of money and motivation to work, which affect the quality, and hence the audience. “Funds are needed! Are we comparing ourselves to neighboring Romania?! These people are exceptional. There is money there for opera, for symphony orchestras. Why is there money there, but we don’t find money?”, the opera diva asks rhetorically.
On the air of Classic FM, Krasimira Stoyanova did not miss the problems in the “Bulgaria” hall, which, despite the repairs, continue to create inconveniences for the musicians and artists. “The hall has wonderful acoustics, but there is no room for the orchestra itself on the stage. Grand pianos are not managed properly; there is no proper toilet for people!” remarked the soprano, who has sung in the most prestigious opera houses and concert halls around the world, with indignation.
“The future of a nation is built on the school, on the spirit, on the music, on the church and on faith,” said the famous Bulgarian opera singer. After her successful concert with the pianist Lyudmil Angelov, which took place in the “Bulgaria” hall on November 18, 2015, the professional engagement calendar of the opera prima is filled with master classes, recitals and recordings.
