1st Rector of Jerusalem Hospice Suspended

2. Ordination of priestesses on the Tiber
It can probably be seen as an open provocation against Pope Francis and the current synod in Rome: On October 17th, the “Association of Roman Catholic Priestesses” (RCWP) ordained three deaconesses and three other priestesses on a houseboat on the Tiber. These orders are not recognized by the Roman Catholic Church and the women face excommunication. – Design: Cornelia Vospernik
3. Los Angeles: Record payments to abuse victims
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles is paying a record sum of around 811 million euros to 1,353 victims of sexual abuse. This is the highest compensation payment ever announced by a single diocese. Since 2014, $740 million has already gone to those affected by abuse, bringing the total in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to $1.5 billion.
