Government of Sinaloa confirms attack on ‘Debate Culiacán’
The Ministry of Public Security (SSP) of Sinaloa reported this Friday night that it received the report of the armed attack on the Debate media outlet, located in the Centro neighborhood of Culiacán.
The report indicates that bullet holes were recognized on the façade of the building, in addition to four cars being damaged: two with the logos of the media outlet and two others that were more private.
“You really see some shell casings at the intersection of streets. It will be the Prosecutor’s Office who determines what happened… Regarding the events that have occurred (the clashes recorded in Sinaloa) there are several calls that have been made. Until now everything is going in order,” said the head of the Ministry of Public Security.
He said authorities will determine if it is a direct or indirect attack. In addition, he noted that there is a construction company nearby that was also shot.
“I couldn’t determine. I repeat because here is a construction company and it has more direct impacts. Towards the newspaper, what I only perceived was two damaged vehicles, from the façade I cannot distinguish,” the head of the SSP responded to Debate, unaware of the bullet impacts to his facilities.
The Sinaloa Prosecutor’s Office is already carrying out investigations in the area where the attack against the Debate media outlet took place, which confirmed that there are no injured people.
