After the Mac version, it’s time for the Windows application for ChatGPT. OpenAI announces that it is possible to download it today, but this remains an equivalent of a beta.

The Windows version of the ChatGPT app has some of the same features as the Mac version, including support for sending files and photos, the ability to offer document summaries with AI, and support of the AI image generator, DALL-E 3. It also provides access to OpenAI’s latest extended language mode, called o1. You can also reduce the size of the application so that you can use it alongside other Windows applications. And to quickly call ChatGPT, simply press the keyboard shortcut Alt + Space.

But there are some limitations in its first version. It does not yet support voice commands, including the recently launched advanced voice mode. Additionally, some of the features for using the app with OpenAI’s GPT Store do not yet work.

Another size limitation is that it is not yet compatible with free accounts. In fact, the application currently requires a Plus, Team, Business or Education account. Support for everyone will happen before the end of the year according to the words d’OpenAI.

If you are eligible, you can test the ChatGPT app for Windows. It is downloadable for free from the Microsoft Store.
