After receiving the renovation works at El Infiernito prison, the Minister of the Interior (Mingob), Francisco Jiménez, detailed the additional security measures that will be implemented to protect those who under loss of freedom to protect.
In a radio interview, the official pointed out that in Infiernito, in addition to the operation of body and material scanners, visitors will also be checked by the K-9 pair. All to prevent access to illegal products.

He also revealed that surveillance cameras will be installed in the prison. In addition to the lack of electrical outlets to prevent inmates from recharging cell phones.
“Other prisons don’t have the same rules of order,” Jiménez said. He pointed out that there will be almost individual bartolinas. These will be for people who cause problems within the prison. Also for those classified as dangerous. Spaces will be enabled to hold up to 40 prisoners per block.
The minister said that the administrative area will be separated from the place where prisoners spend the night. The aim is to avoid communication between them and avoid acts of corruption.
Regarding the profile of the 250 criminals who will be held in that place, the Mingob leader announced that this will be the result of intensive intelligence work. This will identify those who have a major impact on issues of racism and street thugs. He believed that by controlling this sector, the number of criminal activities abroad would decrease significantly.
Jiménez said that the goal is to give him again the section of the maximum security prison that was given in the 70s, when the center was built.
