A 36-year-old foreigner was arrested at noon on Saturday in the area of Omonia, for violating the law on weapons.
In particular, according to ELAS, police officers of the DIAS Group during their patrol in the Omonia area, considered the 36-year-old who was on foot suspicious, and called him for a check.
At the sight of the police, the 36-year-old ran to avoid the control, and shortly before coming to a stop, he threw a backpack into an abandoned building, inside which a replica military rifle was found and confiscated, along with a magazine and a radio, while a knife was found in his possession.
The arrested person, with the case filed against him by the Omonia police station, was taken to the competent prosecutor.
