Nikola Jokic was the winner of the Most Valuable Player award for the 2023-24 NBA season, with averages of 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 9 assists. The Serbian led the Denver Nuggets to be in second position in the Western Conference, but they were unable to fight for the two-time championship after being eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Semifinals.
Despite the collective failure, Jokic’s individual season was one of the best of the center’s career in the NBA and this earned him the third MVP recognition of his career. Now, the European is a candidate to repeat as the best player in the entire NBA and could achieve a historic achievement to continue increasing his legacy within the history of the Association.
Jokic, absolute legend
Since the 2020-21 season, Jokic has been the winner of four Most Valuable Player awards, three from the regular season of the NBA and one of the Finals. Now, the Serbian could have a fifth consecutive season winning one of the most prestigious and important awards in the entire American league in 2024-25.
Despite the names of Jayson Tatum, Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jokic emerges as the main candidate to be crowned MVP of the regular season for everything he gives the Denver Nuggets to compete within a complicated Western Conference and which they already conquered in 2023 when they were Association champions against the Miami Heat.
