Before the judge of preliminary investigations Raffaella Mascarino, the former administrative director of the Galli institute in Bergamo, Pietro D’Aguì, under house arrest, responded by reading spontaneous statements in which he admitted some of the charges against him without going into detail . And he apologized for what he did. The accusation against him is of embezzlement for having pocketed the money of some schools where he worked (the dispute amounts to 112 thousand euros in total, 10 thousand from the proceeds of the students’ snacks). Assisted by the lawyer Luigi Villa, the 54-year-old reserved the right to consult the documents that led to his arrest and to explain to the prosecutor every single disputed episode in the future. The man remains under arrest in his home in Bergamo. The defender did not invoke the mitigation of the precautionary measure, limiting himself to asking (and obtaining from the judge) a series of permissions (going out for shopping, phone calls to his daughters who live far away, visits from his partner) which would allow him to face the regime of house arrest in the house where he lives alone.
The largest sums stolen would have been from the “Galli” institute where the man worked between 2018 and 2023. According to those investigating, to get the money into his accounts (and in some cases into those of his brother-in-law, sister and personal suppliers: none of these are under investigation), the 54-year-old would have used different techniques, all relating to payment orders considered to be fake.
According to the Public Prosecutor, he would have unduly pocketed more than 73 thousand euros.
