BSP supports small-scale animal husbandry – GERB favored the large-scale one –

/ world today news/ “Until 2009, animal breeders received European subsidies when they had 5 cattle and 10 sheep. The BSP is trying to return these criteria again, but we are facing incredible resistance from the other parties in the National Assembly”, said Iliyana Yotova to farmers from Sandanski, Kresna and Petrich.

“The need to own 10 cattle and 50 sheep to receive European subsidies was introduced by the GERB government with the sole purpose of benefiting large animal breeders. Even the EC proposes to return to the previous criteria, but we do not find support for this”, added the candidate for MEP. “What people who have less livestock can do is apply for de minimis aid, where the ceiling is 30 thousand BGN for 3 years”.

Iliana Yotova held numerous meetings in the region, accompanied by People’s Representative Emil Kostadinov, both with the public and with the branch organizations of hoteliers and restaurateurs. The business representatives shared that a big problem for them is the delay in the construction of the Struma highway, as well as the suspension of the mineral springs project in the city. The MEP candidate replied that the construction of the highway is a priority of the current government and the approval of the EC for the operational programs is currently being awaited. Emil Kostadinov added that the problem with the delay comes from the deal concluded between the Greek company that won the public order for the construction of the highway and the funds offered by the previous government of GERB, which later turned out to be extremely insufficient. “The reason is that the lot around the Kresnen Gorge is extremely difficult and very expensive. If we rely only on the funds under the “Transport” operational program, we will have to spend everything only on this part”, added the national representative. Yotova and Kostadinov made a personal commitment to help restart and monitor the development of the suspended project to develop Sandanski as a spa resort.

In Kresna, Iliyana Yotova was met by a huge group of young people who wished her that the MEPs from the Coalition for Bulgaria should be at least 6. The topic of the situation in Ukraine greatly excited citizens. According to Yotova, this topic would not be so hot if we were not in a pre-election situation. She emphasized once again that BSP is categorically against sanctions against Russia and fully supports the construction of South Stream, despite attempts by GERB to prevent this project from being realized.

“Both in my work and in life, I value strong men. The representatives of ABV could have come and told us straight in the face that there will be a second list, and not for us to learn from the media. With what exactly did they expand the left-wing political space in Bulgaria?” Yotova asked rhetorically. “The list is the former presidential administration, and its registration is from parties that we have seen what they can do. It is significant, for example, that the municipal councilors of Krastyo Petkov are always against the BSP. We do not participate in debates, because for us it is much more important to hear your questions, your problems and concerns than to participate in endless chat rooms, where there is no real discussion, only shouting and insulting each other”, added the second in the list of the Coalition for Bulgaria.

Iliana Yotova visited a metals factory in Petrich, where people complained that during Simeon Dyankov’s time they did not receive salaries for 3-4 months. This is the first government that talks about the re-industrialization of the country and introduced additional benefits for mothers, for families with disabled children. We are aware that this is still not enough. But we are on the right track and we must continue so that this becomes a permanent and long-term policy”, Yotova said. “People with zest and character are needed to protect the interests of both the country and individual citizens”, added the candidate for MEP.
