Tucumán prepares for the Argentine Under 19 Hockey Team Tournament

María Luisa “Lulu” Santamarina, president of the Tucumán Hockey Association, expressed her satisfaction at hosting the tournament. “This event not only represents an opportunity for our young players to compete at the highest level, but it is also a time for the community to come together around sport and support our teams,” he told LV12.

Visiting the province, Sergio Torchia, Director of Tournaments and Competitions of the Argentine Hockey Confederation, also shared his vision about the importance of the event. “This tournament is one of the most outstanding of the year in terms of hockey teams. It generates great expectations for us, since it is an opportunity for the teams to show their talent and commitment,” he commented to the LV12 microphones.

Since his arrival in Tucumán, Torchia has been impressed by the organization of the event. “The Tucumán association has done an exceptional job in planning and preparing the tournament. “Our initial inspection has been of excellence, and we are confident that it will be a high-quality event,” he stated. This positive evaluation reinforces Tucumán’s reputation as a province capable of hosting large-scale competitions.

The Argentine Under 19 National Team Tournament not only represents a sporting challenge, but also a platform for the development of hockey in the region. Torchia explained that the Argentine Hockey Confederation has been working on competition policies and strategies for many years. “It is essential that our affiliates improve their level of competition, starting from the clubs to reaching high-level tournaments like this one,” he highlighted.

In addition, he did not rule out the possibility of Tucumán hosting international events such as the Pro League again. “Tucumán has all the conditions to receive the Pro League without problems. It has hosted international events in the past and we aspire to do so again,” he said. This statement is a clear indication of the confidence that the Confederation has in the organizational capacity of the province.

“All teams have worked hard throughout the year to prepare for this event, and we hope it will generate a sense of commitment and future in all participants,” Torchia concluded.
