The Champions Route has set off again across French territory. For this Catalan stage, it was Céret, which welcomed the French judo delegation.
The Champions’ Route began the day before with the inauguration of a dojo in Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts. This tour, sporting and civic, offered as many people as possible the discovery of judo and its values, with beautiful people in attendance, a mix of champions from yesterday and today: Amandine Buchard, quadruple Olympic medalist , Alpha Djalo and Aurélien Diesse, Olympic team champions. As well as Cathy Arnaud, Céline Lebrun, Bertrand Amoussou and Frédéric Demontfaucon from the French judo team.
The afternoon was the big one show for 800 licensees aged 6 to 12 from the Pyrénées-Orientales committee, including a delegation from Barcarès of around thirty judokas, headed by Laurent Joly and Fred Bossonay. Kodomo, the red panda from Japan, mascot of the French team, was also there with workshops and initiations: turning, first technique, demonstrations by the Olympic champions under the eyes of amazed and won over children, very happy to discover this sport with these champions of the day. For everyone, it was a discovery, they will keep great memories of this moment in their lives as young adolescents: the discovery of judo and its values.
From October 21 to 22, At the Maison des associations, an Olympics will take place with numerous workshops and judo activities, with diplomas and medals being awarded.
