Billy Joel fans were treated to a big surprise during his concert at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles: Axl Rose, the legendary singer of Guns N’ Roses, took the stage to perform Live And Let Die with Joel, in front of a crowd of 18,000 people.
Live And Let Die: a classic well mastered by Axl Rose
This isn’t the first time Axl Rose has joined Billy Joel on stage. Less than three months after performing three songs with him on the final night of his historic Madison Square Garden residency, Rose surprised the California audience by performing Live And Let Diea title he knows well. The 1973 track by Paul and Linda McCartney, originally recorded by Wings, was covered by Guns N’ Roses on their 1991 album Use Your Illusion Iand the band has performed it in concert more than 800 times since.
In fact, Guns N’ Roses performed Live And Let Die live more often than some of his own iconic tracks, like November Rain or Rocket Queen. This mastery of the song allowed Rose to captivate the audience during this unexpected moment, creating an unforgettable moment for the 18,000 fans present at the Intuit Dome.
