the mental health event in Milan

October 10th is World Mental Health Dayan anniversary recognized in 1992 and celebrated through the establishment of campaigns and initiatives to promote and raise awareness on the topic of mental well-being throughout the world. L’Oréal Professionnel – which with its Brand Cause Head Uphas been committed to protecting the mental well-being of hairstylists for years – has decided to give a precious moment of self-care to its community of brand lovers with a talk on mental well-being and a yoga session. The whole thing powered by nss G-Club.

The importance of awareness and gratitude: the talks

Before dedicating yourself to yogathe girls were able to listen to and participate in two different talks, both focused on mental well-being but also on the importance of awareness and of theempathy for hairstylists and in general. To conclude, a touching and very sweet moment: the one in which the presenter of the interventions with Sergio Castiglia and Ilaria Bianchi – the content creator Giulia Bernardi – asked the participants to write on a whiteboard the things they are grateful and happy for, which help their mental well-being every day and, perhaps, too often they give themselves for granted. The results made one thing clear: we all appreciate someone else and are grateful to them for what it brings to our lives. Some wrote about friends, some about family, some about pets. In any case, we place all our love and part of our mental well-being on others and on those who have chosen to share their lives with us, including hairdressers.

Yoga with L’Oréal Professionnel

Afterwards, the yoga teachers guided the girls through two sessions of relaxing and practicing without judgment or fearwhich brought them back in touch with their mind but also with their body. The room immediately fell into a contemplative silencepunctuated only by the indications of the teachers and the deep breaths of the participants. In the end, everyone involved said they were sweaty but satisfied, enriched from the experience and the hours spent together.
