Serradifalco. The little violinist Riccardo Palmeri performed at the Royal Academy in London – Il Fatto Nisseno

SERRADIFALCO. The Royal Academy of Arts is one of the most important and prestigious arts institutions in the United Kingdom. Hosted at Burlington House in Piccadilly, central London, it celebrated the 250th anniversary of its founding in 2018. Performing at the Royal Academy of Arts is the dream of every self-respecting musician. A dream that, in many cases, is not easy to turn into reality.

However, it was not the same for Riccardo Palmeri. The talented violinist from Serradifalco, son of an artist aged just 12, had the honor of performing at the Royal Academy in London. For the very young violinist, another international goal has been achieved. Riccardo Palmeri was invited to perform in London, guest of the Royal Academy of Music. The concert took place at the Duke’s Hall of the renowned London academy and featured Riccardo in duo with the American pianist Angel Verdera.

An important and unforgettable experience which enriched the curriculum of the very young talent from Nisse. Furthermore, just last September 12th, Riccardo took the entrance exam for the 1st level three-year academic course at the Scarlatti conservatory in Palermo.

The news might seem trivial, were it not for the fact that the violinist in question is only 12 years old, attends the seventh grade of the Filippo Cordova Middle School in Caltanissetta but was directly admitted to the three-year academic violin course, in the class of his teacher Donato Cuciniello, reporting upon admission the maximum score and ranking first suitable in the ranking among all the candidates and where, once the three years have been completed, they would already be ready for graduation.

For him, in that case, it would be an absolute record of artistic and musical precocity in the context of a career which is seeing him as a protagonist, despite his still young age, at very high levels as in the case of his recent performance in London at the Royal Academy of Music.
