Game Freak Hacked: Major Employee Data Leak and Pokémon Game Details Exposed

Good morning and welcome to the best start to your work week: a new Night Watch! Today includes a flurry of Blade news, a massive limited edition Xbox Series X and a grueling weekend for Game Freak. Let’s go!

Game Freak responds to major hack, personnel data leaked too

Game Freak didn’t have a pleasant weekend, to say the least. The company is now admitting that it was hacked and also announcing that not only were details about games leaked, but employee data was also exposed.

Game Freak reports that the personal data was stolen by a third party who had unauthorized access to the company’s servers in August this year (via Nintendo all).

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern this is causing to everyone involved,” the company said. This relates to 2,606 names and addresses employee emails. Game Freak has now rebuilt and audited that server. The company will also increase security so that it is better protected against hackers.

The information has been released now available everywhere on the internet. For example, details about Pokémon games appeared without warning, including the next main game in the series (generation 10) and mmo. According to CentroLeaks, the source codes for Pokémon HeartGold / SoulSilver and Pokémon Black and White 2 are also on the street.
