How Hit Stick works
Timing is critical in using the Hit Stick. To use this technique, move the stick right up while executing the tackle, causing the defender to laugh at the ball carrier with extra force. Using this method can break up passes or even cause costly turnovers such as losing the ball (fumble).
In previous versions of Madden, you could move the stick in a wide window of time and still have a powerful effect on other players. But in Madden 25, it requires you to time your strike perfectly to knock down opponents. Failing to Hit Stick has always been dangerous, causing you to lose balance, but now the wrong timing can cause defenders to bounce out of you as if they were playing volleyball.
advice:
Try to time the Hit Stick with the moment your player hits the ball carrier to give maximum impact. The game will tell you if you are early, late, or having a good time, and the player indicator will light up green when you have the perfect time.
The skill-based combat system, when combined with Boom Tech, aims to create a realistic simulation of the field, accurately reflecting the weight and speed differences between NFL athletes. For example, a strong linebacker can fumble a poorly timed tackle with a thin back, but a linebacker can end a receiver’s season with a perfect strike over the middle of the field.
The best players will be able to distinguish between when to use a Hit Stick and when to use a cover tool.
