The Chinese crossover is bigger and, already in the basic version, more dynamic, better equipped and drivesfurther
Lynk & Co is a car manufacturer owned by Geely in China and Volvo is also owned by the same entrepreneurs. It’s no secret that Swedish technologies are also used in models of Chinese brands, so any new product from these manufacturers attracts interest, especially when it becomes available in Europe.
The Lynk & Co 02 is 4.46m long, 1.84m wide and 1.57m high, with a 2.75m wheelbase. In the cabin, there are seats made of recycled materials (it’s fashionable now), an oval steering wheel, a 15.4-inch HD touch screen for multimedia and navigation, a 10.2-inch screen for the driver, wireless charging for a smartphone and support for 5G Internet. 19-inch wheels and electrically adjustable front seats are also available at no extra cost.
Electronic aids include systems such as road sign recognition, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist system and cross traffic alert.
The basic version will have rear-wheel drive, a 272 hp electric motor, a 66 kilowatt-hour battery and a range of 445 kilometers, but the price mentioned in the media for such a model will start at 36,000 euros.
The Volkswagen ID.3 is sold at a comparable price, but it is more compact (4.26 meters), equipped with a smaller battery (59 kWh) and the original configuration is much simpler.
In terms of dynamics, Lynk & Co 02 is comparable to the GTX modified Volkswagen ID.3 sports, that is, acceleration from 0 to 100 takes only 5.5 seconds. The Chinese crossover is characterized by fast charging: using a 150 kW source, charging from 10% to 80% should be achieved within half an hour.
For the scope of the information, let us add that the electric Volvo EX30 or Smart #1 is also produced on the same platform.
