In this way, Rojas replaced the holder of this international competition in 2023, the Colombian-Spanish Óscar Sevilla.

The sixth and final day of the tour – a stretch of 95 kilometers in 10 laps – was dominated by the local Olympian, Franklin “Águila” Archibold, 24 years old, a native of the western province of Chiriquí and a member of the Panama es Cultura y squad. In addition to the host nation, the 2024 Tour of Panama was attended by riders from Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Colombia, the United States, Spain, Cuba, Honduras and Venezuela.

Regarding the event, the president of the Panamanian Cycling Federation, Vicente Carretero, praised the efforts made to place the discipline at the center of the development of cycling in Central America.

For his part, the director of Pandeportes, former cyclist Guillermo Abadías, told Prensa Latina that, among the 22 participating teams, the 10 international ones, including Cuba, gave prestige to this competition, which helps the collective and individual preparation of their representatives.
