/ world today news/ For the whole year and more, the Ministry of Education and Science is excellent. This was announced by the Minister of Education Prof. Todor Tanev in response to a question about whether he would resign after being asked to do so by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
In a telephone interview for BNR, Tanev listed how many draft laws were introduced by the ministry, how he connected business with education and “the icing on the cake is that we secured an additional BGN 1.3 billion from the program for economic growth. Asked again if he will resign, Tanev said: “For 20 years, the problem with terms has existed in our history. Personally, I support slavery, but most support Ottoman rule. I had and intend to invite them to state their position honestly”, he said but did not answer the question.
And to the third question, whether he will resign, Tanev explained that “the RB has been sitting in its extended composition for a long time, and now in its shortened composition, who will be my successor. I know two or three names that will always agree,” said the minister.
“I didn’t do anything without consent. What I have not done is that if there are any mishaps that come from some compromise decisions that have come from others and not from the MES, we are not to blame.”
BGNES recalls that Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, after a conversation with the leadership of the Reform Bloc, demanded the resignation of the Minister of Education and Science Todor Tanev and his team.
“Because of the systemic problems in the ministry and the sector, I think that the department should be taken over by someone else. I called on my colleagues from the Reform Bloc to offer me a new team for the ministry by the end of the day to continue the reform. For me, as prime minister, it is unacceptable to make changes in the field of education that have not previously been subjected to a wide public discussion”, motivated the prime minister.
